• Ensure compliance with relevant regulations, security frameworks and industry best practices.
• Provide cyber security guidance to senior leadership and key stakeholders.
• Work closely with Information Governance, Data Protection and Technology teams to coordinate security.

Cyber Security Manager

Harrow, London (Hybrid - 3 Days Onsite)
Permanent | Full-Time (36 Hours)

We are seeking an experienced Cyber Security Manager to lead and enhance cyber security capability within a large and complex organisation delivering critical services to thousands of users.

This is an exciting opportunity for a senior cyber security professional who enjoys balancing strategic leadership with hands‑on operational delivery. You'll play a key role in shaping security strategy, managing cyber risks, responding to security incidents, and driving continuous improvement across the security landscape.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and develop the organisation's cyber security strategy and roadmap
• Manage cyber security operations, incident response and investigations
• Drive improvements across security monitoring, threat detection and vulnerability management
• Develop and implement security policies, standards and governance frameworks
• Ensure compliance with relevant regulations, security frameworks and industry best practices
• Provide cyber security guidance to senior leadership and key stakeholders
• Work closely with Information Governance, Data Protection and Technology teams to ensure a coordinated approach to security

Essential Experience

• Proven experience in a Cyber Security Manager, Information Security Manager, Security Operations Manager or similar leadership role
• Strong understanding of cyber security governance, risk management and compliance
• Experience managing security incidents and cyber response activities
• Experience leading or developing Security Operations Centre (SOC) capabilities
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
• Experience operating within complex and highly regulated environments

Technical Skills

Experience with Microsoft security technologies including:

• Microsoft Sentinel
• Microsoft Defender
• Microsoft Entra ID
• Microsoft Intune
• Microsoft Purview
• Microsoft Copilot for Security

Desirable

• Experience within Local Government, Public Sector, NHS, Education or other regulated environments
• Knowledge of ISO27001, NIST, Cyber Essentials and related security frameworks
• Experience supporting digital transformation and cloud-based security initiatives
