The Head of Cyber Security is a leadership role reporting to the Director of Strategy & Operations. The person will be accountable for defining and delivering the organisation’s cyber security strategy, overseeing enterprise security operations, and ensuring cyber risk is understood, managed, and governed at the highest level. Enterprise scope includes interleaving strategy and planning with Fujitsu Servies Ltd UK leadership intent, supporting the Board’s formal commitment to the UK Government Cyber Resilience Pledge. The role provides visible leadership across the business, translating complex security issues into clear commercial, operational, and strategic decisions that protect the organisation while enabling growth, resilience, and customer confidence.

Leadership Purpose
  • Provide strategic, credible, and inspiring leadership for cyber security across the organisation, shaping how security is understood, prioritised, and embedded by internal stakeholders, customers, and external partners.
  • Set a clear vision for what excellent cyber security looks like and create the conditions for teams to deliver it consistently.
  • Build confidence with customers and senior stakeholders through clear articulation of security strategy, priorities, and outcomes.
  • Support strategic growth by contributing authoritative security leadership to customer engagements, bids, and executive discussions.
  • Influence the wider organisation to adopt consistent security principles, effective governance, and a shared understanding of risk and accountability.
  • Represent the organisation externally as a trusted security leader through industry engagement, customer dialogue, and executive advocacy.
Key Responsibilities
  • Strategy & Roadmap: Define and lead the organisation’s cyber security strategy and multi-year roadmap, ensuring security priorities are aligned to business objectives, customer expectations, and regulatory obligations.
  • Enterprise Risk Leadership: Identify, assess, and communicate cyber risk at executive level, ensuring that material risks are understood, prioritised, and managed through appropriate controls and governance.
  • Secure by Design: Champion the integration of security into business change, technology platforms, product development, and operational processes from the outset.
  • Customer Confidence & Strategic Growth: Build confidence with customers and senior stakeholders by clearly articulating security strategy, priorities, and outcomes, and provide authoritative security leadership to customer engagements, bids, and executive discussions that support strategic growth.
2. Security Operations & Incident Response
  • Incident Leadership: Provide senior leadership during major cyber incidents, acting as the executive point of escalation and ensuring effective coordination, decision-making, and recovery.
  • Operational Assurance: Oversee core security operations including vulnerability management, threat detection, security testing, and monitoring to maintain an effective and resilient control environment.
  • Security Capability: Direct the investment, performance, and continuous improvement of security tooling and services to meet evolving business and threat requirements.
3. Governance, Compliance & Auditing
  • Governance & Compliance: Ensure the organisation maintains effective security governance and compliance with applicable legal, regulatory, contractual, and industry requirements.
  • Audit & Assurance: Lead internal and external assurance activity, oversee remediation of findings, and maintain productive relationships with auditors, customers, and external security partners.
  • Leadership & Talent: Build, lead, and develop a high-performing cyber security function, setting clear expectations, strengthening capability, and fostering accountability and professional growth.
  • Culture & Awareness: Promote a strong security culture across the organisation by increasing awareness, clarifying responsibilities, and embedding good security behaviours into day-to-day operations.
  • Leadership Experience: Significant experience in a senior cyber security leadership role within a complex organisation, with accountability for strategy, risk, operations, and stakeholder engagement.
  • Technical Credibility: Strong understanding of modern cyber security principles, technologies, and threat landscapes, with the judgement to balance technical risk against business priorities.
  • Executive Communication: Proven ability to influence senior stakeholders, customers, and Boards by translating technical issues into clear business impact, risk, and decision points.
  • Professional Standing: Relevant professional certifications such as CISSP, CISM, or CRISC are desirable, together with evidence of continued professional development and external credibility in the field.
  • National Security Vetting: Able to achieve and maintain a high level of UK Security Clearance.
