Job summary

Harvey Nash is seeking an experienced Head of Credit Risk to lead the credit risk function for a growing lending fintech in the United Kingdom. This senior, hands-on role covers credit strategy, risk appetite, underwriting, portfolio performance and credit decisioning.

Collaboration with Product, Commercial, Data, Technology and Collections is key to optimise risk-adjusted returns and support responsible growth.

Qualifications

• Experience in credit risk within financial services.
• Experience leading a credit risk team.
• Strong analytical and commercial decision-making skills.
• Experience with BI tools such as Power BI or Looker.
• Knowledge of credit risk modelling and statistical analysis.
• Small business lending experience is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Own and develop credit risk strategy, policies and underwriting frameworks.
• Define risk appetite, lending criteria, portfolio limits and KRIs.
• Monitor portfolio performance and identify emerging risks.
• Improve credit models, scorecards and decisioning processes.
• Lead and develop a high-performing credit risk team.
• Work cross-functionally to improve lending products and customer outcomes.
• Use data and analytics to drive credit decisions and portfolio performance.
