Job Description

As a Head of Credit Risk, you will be responsible for the second line management of credit risk for the group. You will have three direct reports and will own and lead the development of credit risk policies and standards, providing oversight and assurance to the Executive and Board that credit risk is managed within risk appetite.

You will also develop data and reporting to support insights across the Group Risk Function and serve as the expert on scorecard modelling and automation for the Transformation programme across the group.

Key responsibilities include:

• Oversee, challenge, and assure first line credit risk management and reporting across all products
• Own and develop credit risk policies and standards for all group lending products, ensuring proper governance and controls
• Produce credit risk profiles for Executive and Board risk committees, working with the first line to identify material credit risks and mitigation actions
• Use industry knowledge and macroeconomic insights to identify emerging credit risks and develop forecasting models
• Set, via the Board, credit risk appetites; manage portfolio level credit risks, exposures, and concentration risks

Qualifications

• Strong understanding of risk management principles across the credit lifecycle, credit analysis, and policies
• Experience in implementing scoring and advanced data and analytical techniques throughout the customer journey
• Experience in secured lending, especially specialist mortgage lending
• Experience in managing and developing high-performance teams
• Confidential and influential communication skills suitable for Board level
