Job summary

British Steel in Scunthorpe is seeking an exceptional Head of Continuous Improvement to build and embed a world-class CI capability across the business. You will lead the improvement strategy to deliver safety, quality, productivity and cost performance.

This role spans manufacturing, engineering, supply chain and support functions; you will champion Lean and Six Sigma, develop internal capability, and influence culture from shop floor to the executive team, leaving a lasting legacy.

Qualifications

• Significant Lean, Six Sigma or Operational Excellence experience in a complex manufacturing or industrial environment.
• Track record of delivering operational, financial and cultural transformation.
• Lean Six Sigma Black Belt qualification, or equivalent experience.
• Strong leadership, coaching and influencing skills.
• Credibility to engage from shop floor to executive team.

Responsibilities

• Lead the development and deployment of British Steel's improvement strategy, driving measurable safety, quality, productivity, reliability and cost improvements.
• Embed Lean and Six Sigma methodologies, develop internal capability and create a culture of continuous improvement across the business.
• Collaborate with senior leaders to identify opportunities, solve complex challenges and deliver sustainable results across functions.
