Job summary

Balfour Beatty plc, through its One Alliance with Anglian Water, seeks an experienced Head of Construction to lead and inspire delivery teams across a diverse capital programme. This role focuses on safe, high‑quality construction of major and minor projects, with regional travel across the East of England and flexible/remote working where possible.

Qualifications

• Significant experience leading large-scale construction delivery.
• Strong understanding of construction methods, engineering processes and planning.
• Proven leadership and communication skills to engage multidisciplinary teams.
• Experience managing budgets, contracts and senior stakeholders.
• Forward-thinking mindset open to innovation and change.
• Valid UK driving licence and willingness to travel regionally.

Responsibilities

• Lead, develop and motivate high-performing construction teams; embed collaboration, safety and continuous improvement.
• Oversee strategy and delivery across multiple complex projects; ensure safety, timeliness and budget adherence.
• Drive innovation and improved ways of working across the supply chain to enhance safety, quality and efficiency.
• Build and maintain relationships with Anglian Water, Alliance partners and external suppliers.
• Lead cost control and resource planning; maximise value and performance across programmes.
• Champion health, safety, wellbeing and environmental excellence; promote zero-accident culture.
• Promote inclusion, fairness and respect across teams and partner organisations.
