Job summary

The Blue Coat School is seeking a Head of Computing to provide strategic leadership across the school, overseeing the Computing curriculum, digital learning initiatives and safeguarding aligned with national guidance.

You will lead the development of Computing policies, manage staff and resources, and collaborate with senior colleagues to enhance pupil achievement and digital citizenship within a safe learning environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership for Computing across the school, shaping strategic direction and development.
• Devise, implement and review the Computing Vision Statement and relevant policies.
• Present Computing developments to the Teaching, Learning and Curriculum Committee.
• Ensure Computing aligns with the School Vision Statement and Digital Learning Strategy.
• Lead and monitor Schemes of Work for Key Stage 2 and ensure progression across years.
• Oversee ICT systems, resources, and subscriptions; manage central computing resources.
• Lead online safety programmes and promote responsible digital citizenship.
• Coordinate budget planning for the Computing Department and monitor spend.
