Job summary

Ribbons & Reeves is seeking a Head of Computer Science in Bushey, Hertfordshire, to join on a full-time, permanent basis from January 2027, with potential for an April 2027 start. The role involves leading the Computer Science curriculum across KS3-KS5 and shaping teaching and student engagement.

The ideal candidate will have a PGCE with QTS, extensive CS teaching experience, and strong leadership and organisational skills to drive the subject forward within the school.

Qualifications

• Strong secondary Computer Science teaching experience.
• Excellent subject knowledge and KS3-KS4 teaching experience; KS5 desirable.

Responsibilities

• Lead the development and delivery of Computer Science across the school.
• Collaborate with another teacher to ensure consistency in curriculum, teaching and learning.

Are you an exceptional Head of Computer Science ready to take ownership of a growing subject area? We are working with a successful secondary school in Bushey, Hertfordshire, seeking a Head of Computer Science to join on a full-time, permanent basis from January 2027, with an April 2027 start potentially negotiable.

This is an excellent opportunity for a Head of Computer Science to lead the subject across the school while working alongside and supporting one other Computer Science teacher. The successful Head of Computer Science will have genuine scope to shape curriculum, teaching and student engagement.

The Opportunity

As Head of Computer Science, you will take responsibility for the development and delivery of Computer Science across the school.

You will work closely with one other teacher, ensuring consistency in:

• Curriculum planning and sequencing
• Teaching and learning
• Assessment and progress
• Student engagement and achievement
• Development of the subject across KS3-KS5
