Job summary

Ribbons & Reeves is seeking a Head of Computer Science in Bushey, Hertfordshire, to join on a full-time, permanent basis from January 2027, with potential for an April 2027 start. The role involves leading the Computer Science curriculum across KS3-KS5 and shaping teaching and student engagement.

The ideal candidate will have a PGCE with QTS, extensive CS teaching experience, and strong leadership and organisational skills to drive the subject forward within the school.

Qualifications

• PGCE in Secondary Computer Science or Computing with QTS.
• Strong secondary Computer Science teaching experience.
• Excellent subject knowledge and KS3-KS4 teaching experience; KS5 desirable.
• Strong organizational and leadership skills.
• Passion for developing students' digital and computational thinking.

Responsibilities

• Lead the development and delivery of Computer Science across the school.
• Collaborate with another teacher to ensure consistency in curriculum, teaching and learning.
• Oversee assessment and progression for KS3-KS5.
• Shape curriculum, teaching directions and student engagement.
• Develop the subject across KS3-KS5 and support ongoing professional development.
