Job summary

QED Legal Recruitment Limited is assisting a top 200 law firm in Greater Manchester to recruit a Head of Risk & Compliance who will also act as MLRO. You’ll own the compliance framework, advise the COLP and Board, and manage AML/CDD, audits and disclosures.

Significant compliance experience in a law firm, strong SRA and AML knowledge, and the ability to advise senior stakeholders are essential. You’ll lead policy development, training and risk escalation.

• Overseeing AML risk assessments and CDD processes.
• Managing complaints and liaising with the Legal Ombudsman and SRA.
• Overseeing audits, risk registers and compliance breaches.
• Delivering training that helps colleagues understand how the requirements apply to their work.

We're currently working with a brilliant top 200 law firm looking for a Head of Risk & Compliance to take ownership of the function and act as MLRO.

You’ll work closely with the COLP and Board, advising on the issues coming through day to day while keeping an eye on the bigger picture. This is abroad compliance role, a seat at the table and the opportunity to influence how a firm manages risk.

The role?

• Leading and developing the firm’s compliance framework, policies and procedures.
• Advising the COLP and Board on regulatory requirements and emerging risks.
