# Head of Communications### OverviewScottish Renewables is creating a new senior communications leadership role at a transformational moment for both the organisation and the wider renewable energy sector.As Head of Communications, you will be responsible for developing and leading the organisation's communications strategy, ensuring Scottish Renewables remains a trusted, influential and respected voice across government, industry and the public sphere. Working alongside the Director of Public Affairs & Communications, you'll help shape how the renewable energy sector is understood, represented and championed during a period of significant political and societal change.**The Opportunity**This newly created role has been designed to separate strategic communications from commercial marketing activity, providing dedicated leadership on reputation, messaging, advocacy and industry profile.You will:* Lead Scottish Renewables' communications strategy and organisational narrative.* Translate complex policy issues into compelling external communications.* Develop messaging frameworks and advocacy campaigns.* Build the organisation's reputation and visibility across key audiences.* Provide strategic communications counsel to senior leaders.* Support members by helping communicate the sector's successes, challenges and priorities.* Lead and develop the Media Manager while serving as a trusted adviser to the leadership team.**About You**We are interested in individuals from strategic communications, corporate affairs, public affairs, political communications, energy communications or membership organisation backgrounds.You'll bring:* Experience developing high-impact communications strategies.* Strong political awareness and understanding of stakeholder environments.* Expertise in reputation management and strategic messaging.* The ability to translate complex policy, regulatory or technical issues into accessible narratives.* Exceptional stakeholder engagement and influencing skills.* The confidence to challenge constructively, provide strategic counsel and operate with autonomy.This is an opportunity to shape the communications function of Scotland's leading renewable energy trade body and help influence how one of the country's most important industries engages with policymakers, stakeholders and the wider public during a period of significant change.For an experienced communications leader looking to combine strategic influence, public affairs awareness and sector-wide impact, few opportunities offer this level of visibility and responsibility.**Additional Information & How to Apply**You will join a supportive, inclusive and collaborative team, working on a hybrid basis (max 2 days from home) from the Glasgow office.
