Chilworth Partnership is seeking a commercially minded Group Financial Controller in Andover to lead a sizeable finance function, ensuring robust financial control, high-quality reporting, governance and strategic business partnering with senior stakeholders.

The role reports to the senior leadership team and drives budgeting, forecasting and long-term planning, while delivering improvements in systems, processes and data quality in a hybrid working model with some home working.

Formación

• Fully qualified ACA, ACCA or CIMA accountant.
• Experience in a large, complex organisation with multi-site operations.
• Strong technical accounting and financial control background with commercial awareness.

Chilworth Partnership is delighted to be partnering with a leading infrastructure and services organisation in Andover to appoint a commercially focused Group Financial Controller. This is a high-profile leadership opportunity for an experienced finance professional who combines strong technical accounting credentials with a well-rounded commercial skill set and the ability to build influential relationships across the business.

Reporting into the senior leadership team, the Group Financial Controller will lead a sizeable finance function, ensuring robust financial control, high-quality reporting, effective governance, and strategic business partnering with senior stakeholders and budget holders across the organisation.

Key Responsibilities of the Group Financial Controller:

• Lead, mentor and develop a multi-disciplinary finance team, creating a high-performance culture focused on accountability, collaboration and continuous improvement.
• Oversee the production of accurate and timely monthly, quarterly and annual financial reporting, ensuring stakeholders have access to meaningful financial insights to support decision-making.
• Take ownership of the budgeting, forecasting and long-term planning processes, partnering closely with operational and commercial leaders to drive business performance.
• Act as a trusted finance partner to senior stakeholders and budget holders, providing robust challenge, financial guidance and commercial insight to support strategic objectives.
• Drive improvements across finance systems, processes and controls, identifying opportunities to enhance efficiency, reporting capability and data quality.
• Ensure strong financial governance and compliance, including statutory reporting, audit management, internal controls and adherence to evolving accounting standards.
• Support key business initiatives, projects and change programmes, providing financial leadership and influencing decisions across the wider organisation.
• Play a key role within the leadership team, working collaboratively across functions to deliver organisational goals and support future growth.

Requirements:

• Fully qualified ACA, ACCA or CIMA accountant.
• Proven experience operating within a large, complex organisation with significant turnover and multi-site operations.
• Demonstrable success leading and developing finance teams, including managing experienced and senior-level finance professionals.
• Strong technical accounting and financial control background, coupled with excellent commercial awareness.
• Highly developed business partnering skills, with the ability to influence, challenge and build credibility with senior stakeholders and budget holders.
• Experience driving process improvements, finance transformation initiatives and systems enhancements.
• Strong communication and leadership skills, with the ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced and evolving environment.
• Experience within infrastructure, engineering, projects, contracts or similar operationally focused sectors would be advantageous.

Additional Information:

• Salary: £85,000 - £100,000 dependent on experience.
