Axis Solicitors Limited in Manchester seeks a highly experienced Civil Litigation Solicitor to head the Civil Litigation Department. This senior leadership role requires extensive litigation experience and the ability to manage and grow a thriving department within a modern, client-focused firm.

The successful candidate will deliver legal excellence, drive departmental performance, and contribute to the firm's strategic objectives.

Qualifications

• Qualified solicitor with England & Wales status and minimum 5 years PQE in civil litigation.
• Proven leadership and ability to manage a litigation team.
• Strong advocacy, negotiation and analytical skills.
• Commercially aware with strategic mindset and client focus.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Civil Litigation Department and oversee operations and strategy.
• Manage a broad caseload: contractual disputes, property disputes, debt recovery, landlord/tenant matters.
• Provide strategic legal advice and protect client interests.
• Draft and negotiate complex litigation documents and correspondence.
• Represent clients in court, mediations, and negotiations as needed.
• Mentor junior lawyers and support staff; develop talent.
• Monitor case progress and KPIs; ensure regulatory and firm standards.
• Stay updated on civil litigation law and procedures.
• Contribute to business development through networking and client relations.
• Collaborate with senior management to align goals with firm strategy.
