Job summary

Travelers Europe is recruiting a Head of Ceded Reinsurance to lead our ceded reinsurance strategy from London on a full-time, hybrid basis. The role shapes risk appetite, evaluates programme structures, and drives day-to-day treaty placements with executive-level oversight.

Ideal candidates will have extensive global P&C reinsurance experience, London Market proficiency, and a strong track record in programme design, placement, and broker relations, supported by relevant degree and ACII

Qualifications

• Proven experience leading a reinsurance function with strategic impact.
• Extensive Global Property & Casualty reinsurance knowledge.
• Strong familiarity with London Market processes and systems.
• Track record in design, placement and negotiation of programmes.
• Knowledge of capital modelling and its application to reinsurance strategy.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute ceded reinsurance strategy aligned with risk appetite and objectives.
• Lead treaty/facultative placement across lines of business; optimise structures.
• Manage broker/reinsurer relationships to secure terms and access.
• Collaborate with underwriting, actuarial, finance, risk and capital teams.
• Oversee negotiation, documentation, and governance of reinsurance treaties.
