Head of Buying and Merchandising

Location: London (Hybrid)

Salary: Up to £95,000 + package

Fella & Jones are exclusively partnered with a design-led womenswear brand, seeking a Head of Buying and Merchandising. This role offers the chance to influence product strategy and trading during a phase of international growth.

We seek a product-focused, commercially savvy leader with experience in Buying or hybrid Buying/Merchandising roles. Key responsibilities include developing product strategies, analyzing market trends, and influencing brand presentation.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead seasonal product strategy, ensuring a compelling assortment that aligns with brand and commercial goals.
• Benchmark competitors regularly to identify product opportunities and inform buying decisions.
• Utilize data and market insights to optimize sales, performance, and margins across regions.
• Collaborate with Design, Digital, Marketing, and Retail teams to align on product and brand goals.
• Influence campaign styling, imagery, and messaging to enhance product presentation.
• Manage stock forecasting, allocation, and trading to ensure inventory agility and sales growth.
• Lead, mentor, and inspire the Buying and Merchandising team fostering a culture of pace and passion.

What You’ll Bring

• Experience in senior Buying, Merchandising, or hybrid roles within premium or contemporary womenswear.
• Expertise in trend forecasting, competitive analysis, and range development across markets.
• Strong understanding of stock flow, seasonal planning, and trading strategies.
• International experience, especially in EMEA and the US.
• Creative confidence to influence styling and product presentation.
• Experience in e-commerce and omnichannel environments with a digital-first approach.
• Leadership skills and a collaborative approach.
