Job summary

Venesky Brown’s client, a public sector organisation in Glasgow, seeks a Head of Building Services on a permanent basis, onsite in Glasgow, with a salary of £69,488 - £73,709 per annum.

You will lead a multidisciplinary Building Services team, shape maintenance strategies, and ensure compliance with health and safety and statutory requirements. Strong budget, procurement, and stakeholder management are essential.

Qualifications

• Degree in Building Services (mechanical or electrical).
• 10+ years in a senior Building Services/operational environment.
• Experience leading a multi-discipline team.
• Design and specification of complex building services infrastructure.
• Experience monitoring large budgets and producing financial reports.
• Strong leadership and stakeholder management.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage Building Services, M&E professionals; develop staff and workloads.
• Plan short-, medium-, and long-term maintenance strategies.
• Shape departmental policy for Building Services and maintenance projects.
• Ensure compliance with health & safety and statutory legislation.
• Provide Building Services and energy management guidance to meet client needs.
• Lead reviews of service provision; implement PPM systems and reports.
• Procure contracts with Procurement team; prepare tender docs and interviews.
• Monitor performance of consultants/contractors and ensure value for money.
• Provide leadership in emergencies; offer remote and onsite support.
