Job summary

Dovetail & Slate Ltd is seeking a Curriculum Manager to lead engineering and construction apprenticeships across a broad curriculum. You will own the provision, provide strong leadership to teaching and support teams, and drive employer partnerships to meet learner outcomes and funding targets.

The role focuses on developing programmes, managing staff performance, and ensuring high-quality delivery while aligning with regional skills needs and the organisation’s performance targets.

Qualifications

• Proven experience leading curriculum provision across engineering or construction.
• Experience managing apprenticeship provision within FE or training providers.
• Ability to use data to improve learner outcomes and curriculum decisions.
• Strong leadership, communication, and organisational skills.
• Understanding of apprenticeship funding, QA, compliance and safeguarding.

Responsibilities

• Lead development and delivery of apprenticeship programmes across engineering, welding/fabrication and professional construction.
• Manage and develop staff, including recruitment, performance management and development.
• Oversee curriculum quality, learning and assessment to ensure strong learner outcomes.
• Monitor recruitment, retention, achievement and progression using data for improvement.
• Ensure provision meets funding, compliance, QA and safeguarding requirements.
• Develop new programmes in response to employer demand and regional skills needs.
• Build and maintain relationships with employers and external stakeholders.
• Manage budgets, staffing and resources to meet targets.
• Contribute to wider apprenticeship strategy and continuous improvement initiatives.
