Job summary

Dovetail and Slate in Buckinghamshire is seeking a Curriculum Manager to lead the Construction & Technology department within a Further Education college. You will provide operational leadership to lecturers and support staff, driving academic quality, student success, and curriculum innovation.

The role requires line management, curriculum quality oversight, budgeting, and ensuring compliance with awarding bodies, with a teaching commitment in the department.

Qualifications

• Relevant professional/trade qualification to Level 3 or above.
• Substantial FE teaching experience and strong knowledge of FE quality processes.
• Teaching qualification (CertEd/PGCE/DTLLS) and Assessor/IV awards preferred.
• Proven experience supervising or managing teams to drive continuous improvement.
• Excellent interpersonal, leadership, and data-handling skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead, line manage, and develop a team of academic and support staff.
• Oversee curriculum quality, processes, and awarding body compliance.
• Utilize business planning strategies to manage budgets and resource utilization.
• Maintain high standards of Teaching, Learning, and Assessment (TLA).
• Deliver an agreed teaching commitment within the department.
• Act as Duty Manager as part of the college rota.
