The world needed collective support then, and it needs it again now.

In response, UCL has launchedHere, it will happen , our biggest philanthropic and engagement campaign yet. Here, it will happen sets out our ambitions to solve globalhealth, societal, climate and education challenges in UCL’s next century. Here, we have the determination to double down on our discoveries, translate our innovations into impact and inspire the citizens of the future.

There has never been a more exciting time to join UCL Advancement. We are a team of exceptionally ambitious, creative and passionate individuals who work together to achieve remarkable things with a global impact, and we would love for you to be part of this exciting journey and our success. Here, it will happen.

About the role

As Head of Advancement Data Intelligence and Analytics, you will lead the team responsible for transforming data into strategic insight that drives fundraising and alumni engagement across UCL Advancement. Working closely with senior leaders, you will shape the data intelligence strategy, delivering predictive analytics, performance reporting and actionable recommendations that support evidence-based decision-making and maximise philanthropic impact.

This is an exciting opportunity to lead and evolve UCL Advancement's data intelligence capability. Alongside setting the strategic direction, you'll oversee the development of high-quality dashboards, predictive analytics and reporting solutions that empower colleagues across Advancement to make informed, evidence-based decisions and maximise fundraising and alumni engagement outcomes.

We are happy to consider applications to work on a part-time/flexible basis wherever possible (minimum 0.8 FTE – equivalent of 4 days per week, stated salary to be pro rata).

This role is eligible for hybrid working with a minimum of20%on site.

You’ll be an experienced analytics or business intelligence professional with a track record of turning complex data into meaningful insight that supports strategic decision‑making. You’ll be comfortable working with senior stakeholders, understanding business needs and translating them into high-quality reporting and analytics solutions.

You’ll have strong technical skills in SQL and/or DAX, with experience designing and building robust dashboards and reporting solutions from the ground up, rather than simply maintaining existing reports. You’ll be confident working with large CRM datasets, developing analytical models and creating visualisations that enable users to make better, evidence-based decisions. Experience of Python or R for advanced analytics would be advantageous, but is not essential.

You’ll also bring experience leading or mentoring others, fostering a collaborative, high‑performing team and promoting a culture where data, insight and continuous improvement are central to success.

Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills are essential, as you’ll be equally comfortable discussing technical concepts with analysts as presenting clear recommendations to senior leaders.

We are pleased to accept applications from individuals who possess transferable skills and experience drawn from sectors outside of Higher Education.
