Job summary

Clarus Education in Harrow/Uxbridge is seeking a Head of Additional Learning Support – Foundation Learning to lead the ALS provision for High Needs learners. The role combines strategic leadership with hands‑on management of funding, documentation and service quality across campus.

Reporting to the Director of Foundation Learning, you will inspire and develop a team, deliver against performance targets, work with Local Authorities on placements, and ensure SEND compliance.

Qualifications

• Experience managing Additional Learning Support in Further Education and improving learner experience.
• Ability to assess learners’ needs, identify support, and maintain records to high standards.
• Experience working with Local Authorities on High Needs placements and funding.
• Knowledge of ALS funding and Adult Educational Budget funding.
• Understanding of SEND code of practice and its implementation.
• Experience leading teams and managing staff.

Responsibilities

• Manage ALS provision for High Needs learners and coordinate delivery and funding.
• Ensure timely delivery of support identified in EHCPs to high standards.
• Lead and develop a team, providing direction and support.
• Deliver against performance targets for ALS funding, AEB funding, recruitment, retention, attendance and achievement.
