Job summary

London Borough of Hammersmith & Fulham is seeking a Principal Transport Planner (Active Travel) to lead our borough's ambitious walking, cycling and micromobility programme. You will turn strategy into delivery across initiatives and manage a high-performing team within the Climate & Transport service.

The role requires substantial experience in delivering active travel projects, strong budget/contract management, and excellent stakeholder engagement.

Qualifications

• Experience delivering active travel programmes and infrastructure projects.
• Strong programme, budget and contract management skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead the borough's active travel programme and deliver projects that improve safety, health and accessibility of streets.
• Provide expert advice to Members and senior officers and represent the Council at meetings and regional forums.
• Secure funding, manage complex contracts, and drive continuous improvement through data and insight.
