Head of Accounts | City of London

Full Time – Office based | £40,000 – £50,000 with 20% commission structure (clients closed)

F4F Group is seeking a highly experienced Head of Accounts to join our team in London. We provide professional accounting services to individuals and businesses across London, focusing on tailored solutions for businesses, freelancers, and contractors.

Are you the right person for the job?
  • A qualified accountant – ACCA/CIMA/ACA or equivalent
  • Extensive people management experience
  • Attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to adapt to a dynamic environment, multitask, and meet deadlines
  • Ability to lead by example
  • Strong relationship and communication skills
  • Proficiency in MS Office, especially Excel, Word, PowerPoint
  • Experience with cloud accounting software such as Xero, Sage, QuickBooks
What will your role look like?
Internal Responsibilities
  • Managing the Accounts department and overseeing a team overseas
  • Implementing controls and supporting business growth
  • Building cross-functional partnerships
  • Supporting year-end audits, statutory accounts, and compliance
  • Developing junior team members
  • Reconciling customer and supplier statements, including overseas
  • Communicating with clients and suppliers to ensure timely payments
  • Providing leadership and expertise for smooth operations
  • Handling invoicing, bookkeeping, and internal reporting
  • Reconciliation of tax liabilities and balance sheet items
  • Preparing management accounts and financial statements under UK GAAP or IFRS, including overseas companies
  • Preparing consolidated accounts and tax returns, liaising with tax advisors
  • Ensuring deadlines for compliance are met
External Responsibilities
  • Acting as the main liaison for certain clients
  • Advising on tax planning, restructuring, and accounting software
  • Assisting with software migrations
  • Preparing and submitting financial statements, tax returns, and VAT returns for clients
  • Liaising with tax authorities for compliance
