We are seeking an ambitious and experienced Head of Accounting (US) to join a growing, dynamic global business in the online gaming industry.
This role offers hybrid working with 3 days in the London or Malta office and 2 days remote.
Your Responsibilities
- Assist the Group Financial Controller and Head of FP&A in preparing monthly management accounts for US subsidiaries.
- Review US subsidiary bookkeeping.
- Prepare accounting schedules, bank reconciliations, accruals, revenue recognition to IFRS standards.
- Collaborate with Group FP&A for P&L analysis and variance reports.
- Prepare management accounts including P&L, balance sheet, cash flow.
- Liaise with US subsidiaries' management for reporting packs.
- Coordinate with auditors for quarterly reviews and annual audits.
- Prepare US statutory and statistical returns.
- Develop and maintain internal controls for asset safeguarding and accurate reporting.
- Ensure SOX compliance and manage internal controls over financial reporting.
- Implement and update accounting policies and procedures.
Projects (Initially)
- Enhance financial reporting, internal controls, and operational efficiency through EPR upgrades.
- Implement a consolidation tool for real-time financial data integration.
- Improve Revenue Automation platform and integrate with ERP systems.
- Oversee accounting software and system enhancements.
- Manage ad hoc finance and operational projects.
Candidate Requirements
- Accounting qualification (e.g., ACCA, CIMA, ICAEW).
- Experience in financial reporting, preferably for listed companies.
- Deep knowledge of SOX, IFRS, US GAAP, and tax compliance.
- Experience with tax reconciliation, audits, and interim reviews.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to work remotely with teams in the UK and North America.
- Experience with Dynamics 365 Business Central / Navision, QuickBooks, Power BI, or Tableau.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word.
- Industry experience is a plus.
