Job Description

The Head of Accounting Technology will manage a team of on-shore and off-shore technologists servicing Finance’s Accounting & General Ledger requirements within the Bank.

The Head will oversee the support and enhancement of accounting technologies used by the Bank, including General Ledger, Financial Accounting Hub for revenue accounting, procure-to-pay, expense management, project financial accounting, cash management, and fixed asset management.

The Oracle Fusion Financial / Oracle e-Business Suite is heavily used across the Bank.

Key duties include holding regular BAU meetings, ensuring the SDLC is adhered to, and that changes undergo appropriate QA. The role also involves helping shape the functional and technical design of the accounting platforms.

There is a focus on governance, ensuring technology complies with EMEA IT Risk and Control policies, and that all regulatory requirements, including SOX, are fully met.

Finally, Service Execution will be part of the Head’s responsibilities, ensuring the team can deliver a reliable, robust, sustainable, and efficient accounting technology operating model.

Requirements;

• Understanding of technology used in Finance and experience working with key financial functions such as managing a General Ledger, financial reporting (balance sheet, P&L, income statement), revenue and expense management, reconciliation, and controls.
• Understanding of a General Ledger and its use across a large, complex enterprise, including global organizational structures, chart of accounts, local GAAP, and IFRS.
• Knowledge of core financial sub-ledgers such as invoicing and payments.
• Experience working in a large global organization with multiple entities, currencies, and reporting calendars, preferably in a support role, with an emphasis on acting with urgency.
• Proven track record of successfully delivering projects using both on-premise and cloud-based technologies.
• Experience with platforms such as Oracle Fusion Financial / Oracle e-Business Suite, MS SQL Server, and SSRS.
• Skills in databases, ETL, XML, MQ Middleware tools are highly beneficial.
