Job summary

Leyton Orient Football Club is seeking a Head of Player Care to lead the Academy's Player Care provision, aligning with EPPP, Premier League and club policies. The role requires ensuring welfare, safeguarding, education support and personal development for all academy players, while managing the department and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams across sites.

The post holder will work flexible hours including evenings and weekends for training, fixtures, reviews and events, and will

Qualifications

Significant experience in player care, welfare, education, safeguarding or youth development within elite sport.
Experience leading and managing staff.
Experience working with young people aged 9-21 in a developmental environment.
Experience delivering personal development and wellbeing programmes.
Experience collaborating with parents, schools and external agencies.
Understanding of safeguarding processes and welfare support systems.

Responsibilities

Lead and manage the Academy's Player Care provision in line with EPPP, Premier League, EFL and Club policies.
Oversee Player Care department and supervise staff across the function.
Work with all Academy teams to provide holistic support for players throughout their Academy journey.
Support wellbeing, safeguarding, education, and personal development of players.
Attend training sessions, fixtures, parent meetings and Academy events; occasional travel to schools and venues.
