Job summary

Leyton Orient Football Club is seeking a Head of Player Care to lead the Academy's Player Care provision, ensuring welfare, safeguarding, wellbeing, education support and personal development for all players. The post holder will oversee the Player Care department and work across Academy multidisciplinary teams to provide comprehensive support throughout the Academy journey.

This role requires flexibility with regular evenings and weekends, and travel across Academy sites to support training

Qualifications

• Degree or equivalent qualification in Sports Development, Education, Social Work, Psychology, Youth Work, Welfare or a related field.
• FA Safeguarding Children Certification (or willingness to obtain).
• Enhanced DBS Check.
• Full UK Driving Licence.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the Academy's Player Care provision and oversee the Player Care department to support players holistically.
• Collaborate with all Academy multidisciplinary departments to ensure comprehensive welfare and personal development for players.
• Work across Academy sites and travel to schools, partner organisations and venues as required; be available for evenings and weekends.
• Coordinate safeguarding, wellbeing programmes and education support within the Academy framework.
• Travel to fixtures, meetings and events as part of the role; manage and develop staff such as the Academy Youth Mentor.
