Job summary

The Ned is seeking a Head House Porter to oversee the upkeep of the building, including bedrooms, public areas, restaurants, bars, spa and laundry facilities. You will lead a team, coach staff, and ensure top-tier cleanliness and guest service.

This role combines hands-on operation with strong leadership in a dynamic hospitality environment. Competitive hourly rate of £16.80 including service charge, with benefits such as staff meals, exclusive rates, wellbeing programs, and ample development

Reporting into the housekeeping management team and as a key part of the housekeping team, you will:

• Look after the upkeep of our whole building, from receiving and distributing deliveries to taking care of all work areas and storages
• Be a guardian of outstanding hospitality within your team, modelling behaviours, monitoring standards, and providing coaching and feedback where needed
• Being in top condition is non-negotiable at The Ned, so your attention to detail in ensuring the highest standards of cleanliness in all guest and public areas is essential
• Be an integral part of the housekeeping team, so you’ll be working across all areas as needed to support and assist

What you can bring to the role:

• Previous experience of supervising or managing a team is beneficial, but experienced porters looking to take their next step are also welcome
• You will have strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and develop a team

• This can be a high-pressure role, so a calm demeanour and ability to defuse situations and turn them into a positive is extremely valuable
