Job description

We are looking for a Head Cook to prepare nourishing and well-presented meals. The role involves creating seasonal menus based on input from residents, families, and management, while considering dietary requirements. The candidate must ensure the kitchen is clean and complies with all regulations.

Rate of Pay: £16.20 to £16.55 per hour

Contract Type: Full time

Contract Hours: 40 Hours

Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Compile seasonal menus with input from residents, families, and the Home Manager, ensuring variety and suitability for residents' backgrounds, cultures, and dietary needs.
  • Deliver excellence during mealtimes, ensuring quality presentation and dining experience.
  • Maintain cleanliness and hygiene standards in the kitchen, ensuring compliance with food standards and health & safety regulations.
  • Manage food budgets and ensure effective financial controls.
  • Manage and develop the kitchen team, including supervision, appraisals, and inductions.

Essential Skills, Characteristics, and Experience:

  • Must hold a Food Hygiene Certificate Level 2 or above.
