Job summary

Sodexo at Merville Barracks, Colchester, CO2 7UT, is seeking a Head Chef to lead the catering service in a busy military environment. You’ll manage a kitchen team, ensure high standards of food quality, presentation and service while maintaining safety and compliance.

This hands-on leader will drive operational excellence, menu delivery, stock control and staff development, in a fast-paced setting that rewards quality and teamwork.

Qualifications

• Has led kitchen teams in busy catering environments.
• Holds recognised catering qualifications (City & Guilds / NVQ / HND or degree).
• Has intermediate Food Safety qualification.

Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day catering operation with high standards of food quality, presentation and service.
• Lead, motivate and develop the kitchen team; manage rotas and staffing.
• Ensure compliance with Food Safety, Health & Safety and Sodexo procedures.
