Barchester is seeking a passionate Head Chef to lead our kitchen in a supportive, caring environment across our homes in the United Kingdom. You will design menus, supervise a dedicated team and ensure high standards while delivering nutritious, flavourful meals for residents.

Role emphasises person-centred hospitality, fresh produce, budget management and ongoing development of the kitchen and front-of-house teams. Great opportunity for career growth within our Chef Academy.

Qualifications

• Held City & Guilds / NVQ or equivalent.
• Experience leading a kitchen team.
• Experience with fresh, seasonal produce.
• Ability to create a warm, welcoming dining environment.
• Knowledge of HACCP and COSHH.
• Knowledge of modified diets using IDDSI framework.

Responsibilities

• Lead, motivate and inspire a team, develop and upskill where required.
• Menu development tailored around residents to deliver person-centred hospitality.
• Work with fresh produce to deliver high-quality dishes to the highest standards.
• Bake fresh cakes, scones and breads from scratch.
• Assist the front of house team with dining area setup.
• Manage budgets, conduct audits and stock control.
• Create a warm, efficient and fun environment.
• Ongoing recruitment and retention.
• Oversee performance of kitchen and front of house teams.
