Job summary

itison is seeking a Head Chef for Brel in Glasgow on a full-time basis, approx 45 hours per week. Salary range £40k–£45k plus approx £5k in tips and a potential bi-annual bonus. Benefits include private medical insurance, drinks perks, and funded external training. The role focuses on leading the kitchen, training staff and delivering exceptional dining experiences.

The venue, located in the West End, offers great work/life balance with a 4-on/3-off rota and opportunities for progression.

Qualifications

• Has at least 2+ years of leadership experience in a busy kitchen.
• Demonstrates strong food safety and HACCP awareness.
• Experience in menu development and placing emphasis on trends.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily operation and lead the team to deliver top quality food.
• Train the team and maintain high standards.
• Manage costs with budget/KPI awareness and rota planning.
• Ensure compliance with food safety, risk assessments and health & safety procedures.
• Build relationships with the team to motivate delivering unforgettable experiences.
• Develop dishes aligned with current trends and venue brief.
