Job summary

Oak Tree Manor in Dunmurry, Lisburn, part of Healthcare Ireland Group, is seeking an experienced Chef to lead the kitchen team and deliver high-quality, person-centred dining for residents. You will plan menus, supervise staff, and ensure regulatory standards are met within a supportive home environment.

The role emphasizes dietary needs, safety, and teamwork with care staff to enhance residents’ wellbeing and comfort. A strong kitchen operation and commitment to quality are essential.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years experience as Chef or similar role.
• NVQ Level 3 Diploma in Management or Professional Cookery.
• Advanced Food Safety certification is required.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to manage a small team and ensure standards.
• Plan nutritious meals with dietary considerations (IDDSI).
• Knowledge of HACCP, COSHH and Health & Safety.

Responsibilities

• Plan, prepare, and deliver all food preparations efficiently.
• Supervise catering team and ensure operational standards.
• Monitor kitchen budget within company guidelines.
• Develop varied and interesting menus.
• Manage stock ordering and rotation efficiently.
• Undertake other duties as designated by the Home Manager.
