Job summary

Aramark UK is seeking an exceptional Head Chef to lead the Officers’ Mess at Northwood Headquarters (HA6 3HP). You will run a kitchen of around 10 staff, delivering hotel‑style hospitality for daily dining and high‑profile functions.

The role offers Monday–Friday core hours (06:00–16:00) with scope for culinary creativity within a supported contract framework. The salary is £41,158 per year, plus benefits and career progression.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 1 & 2 in Culinary Skills.
• Experience in a defence or high security environment.
• Strong leadership, organisation, and communication skills.
• UK residency for the past 3 years with right to work in the UK and ability to pass security vetting.
• Clean Enhanced DBS.

Responsibilities

• Lead, train and develop culinary and kitchen teams to deliver high‑quality food.
• Coach staff in new techniques, procedures, equipment and company standards.
• Maintain training records, performance data and operational documentation.
• Drive innovation while maintaining financial efficiency and cost control.
• Build excellent relationships with clients and stakeholders.
• Champion customer service excellence and proactively resolve service issues.
• Ensure full compliance with food safety, procurement and supply chain processes.
