Job summary

South Coast Nursing Homes in East and West Sussex seeks a Head Chef for Eastridge Manor to lead the kitchen team, plan and cook meals from scratch, and uphold high hygiene and presentation standards.

You will train staff, conduct kitchen audits, manage equipment and work with the Home Manager to align with the company vision. Level 2 Chef certification and IDDSI knowledge are required; nursing home experience is a bonus.

Qualifications

• Level 2 Chef certification required.
• Experience in busy catering environment.
• Knowledge of IDDSI and food hygiene practices.
• Nursing home experience is a bonus.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of a Chef and Kitchen Assistants in delivering consistently inspirational food choices.
• Maintain the standards set by the Company Chef – food quality, table settings, hygiene and staff presentation.
• Manage hygiene, cleaning and safety of all catering facilities and report equipment issues.
• Adhere to HACCP and temperature checks plus kitchen audits as required.
• Collaborate with the Home Manager and Company Chef on annual performance reviews for the kitchen team.
