Job summary

Serco Limited, based at HMP and YOI Doncaster, is seeking an experienced Chef to deliver safe, nutritious meals within a custodial setting. You will work to high standards of food quality, safety and service, supporting the catering team and operations to benefit daily life and rehabilitation.

The role involves supervising kitchen staff, ensuring HACCP compliance, and contributing to a positive, respectful environment for prisoners and staff alike.

Qualifications

• 3+ years' experience in a similar large-scale catering operation.
• Strong knowledge of food safety, health and safety, and catering best practice.
• Excellent supervisory, interpersonal, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, supervise, and deliver varied, healthy meals including special diets.
• Work with the Catering Manager to meet safety and operational requirements.
• Supervise kitchen staff and prisoners involved in food production and service.
• Ensure proper storage, handling and distribution of foodstuffs.
• Maintain records in line with HACCP, food hygiene and health and safety procedures.
• Depose for Head Chef when required and support catering delivery across the establishment.
