Job summary

Crystal Care Collection Limited is recruiting a Head Chef for Landers Court, Truro, Cornwall. You will manage the kitchen and staff, plan nutritious meals tailored to residents, and control the catering budget within a care home environment.

Your role requires HACCP compliance, health and safety oversight, and active involvement in staff development and resident satisfaction. Hours reflect a rolling rota with a £22.75 hourly rate.

Qualifications

• L3 in Food Safety required.
• Experience as Head Chef in a care setting preferred.
• Strong knowledge of HACCP and health & safety.

Responsibilities

• Plan, prepare and cook nutritious meals for residents.
• Supervise catering staff and manage the catering budget.
• Submit food orders in a timely manner.
• Ensure HACCP, health and safety compliance in the kitchen.
• Maintain cleanliness and stock rotation, monitoring freshness.
• Support head chef in recruitment, induction and staff development.
• Engage with residents to understand dietary needs and feedback.
• Attend resident/relative meetings and respond to ideas.
