Job summary

Oakbank Care Home is seeking a Head Chef to take full ownership of the kitchen, delivering nutritious, enjoyable meals while leading from the front. You will plan menus, prepare meals, manage stock and budgets, and ensure compliance with food safety standards.

You will drive efficiency, cost control and quality, while developing a high-performing team. The role offers a balanced pattern with no late evenings or split shifts, and a clear path for progression.

Qualifications

• City & Guilds 706/1 and 706/2 or equivalent, or working towards.
• Basic Food Hygiene Certificate.
• Proven experience leading or managing a kitchen.
• Strong leadership and organisational skills.
• Good understanding of dietary requirements and food safety.
• A proactive, reliable and quality focused approach.

Responsibilities

• Lead kitchen operations, from menu planning to stock control and budgets.
• Ensure meals meet dietary needs and are consistently high quality.
• Maintain food safety, nutrition, and presentation across all dishes.
