Job summary

Avery Healthcare is seeking a Head Chef at Milton Court Care Home in Milton Keynes. You will lead a culinary team to deliver nutritionally balanced meals, manage supplier orders, and ensure budget compliance, all while upholding safety standards.

Ideally you hold City & Guilds 706/1 and 706/2 or NVQ, with at least two years of team leadership in care or hospitality and a passion for high-quality dining for residents.

Qualifications

• Two years’ experience managing a culinary team in the care or hospitality sectors.
• Hold a relevant catering qualification – City & Guilds 706/1 and 706/2 or NVQ.
• Demonstrate passion and commitment to delivering high-quality culinary standards to residents.
• Demonstrate an ability to control a budget.

Responsibilities

• Lead a culinary team to provide nutritionally balanced, high-quality meals within budget.
• Prepare modified diets in accordance with IDDSI guidance.
• Place food orders with approved suppliers and manage stock to budget limits.
• Supervise kitchen staff and Host team, training unqualified staff as needed.
• Maintain safe working practices and assess risks for residents and staff.
