Job summary

Avery Healthcare is seeking a warm, enthusiastic Head Chef for Lady Jane Court Care Home in Leicester. You will lead a culinary team to deliver nutritionally balanced meals within budget, including modified diets that be visually appealing and compliant with IDDSI guidance.

Role requires two years of managing a culinary team in care or hospitality, plus City & Guilds 706/1 and 706/2 (or NVQ). DBS check will be required; you must be eligible to work in the UK. On-site role at the Leicester home.

Qualifications

• Two years experience managing a culinary team in care or hospitality.
• Strong budgeting and cost-control capabilities.
• Proven track record of delivering high-quality meals.
• Ability to lead and develop kitchen staff and a wider Host team.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage a culinary team delivering nutritionally balanced meals.
• Prepare modified diets in line with IDDSI guidance.
• Place food orders with approved suppliers within budget.
• Supervise kitchen staff and provide instruction to trainee staff.
• Apply safe systems of work and assess risks to residents and staff.
