Your Experience and Qualifications

• A personable and warm approach with genuine interest in residents' wellbeing
• City & Guilds/NVQ/SVQ or equivalent qualification
• Experience in leading, motivating, and inspiring a team
• Experience working with fresh seasonal food and understanding of nutrition
• Ability to create a welcoming environment within our homes
• Confidence engaging with residents to develop appetising, nutritious menus
• Experience working with a front-of-house team to ensure high standards
• Good understanding of HACCP and COSHH
• Knowledge of modified diets using the IDDSI framework (training provided if new to care)

Your Role and Responsibilities

• Lead, motivate, and develop your team
• Develop menus tailored to residents' needs, delivering person-centred hospitality
• Use fresh produce to prepare high-quality, wholesome dishes
• Bake fresh cakes, scones, and breads from scratch
• Assist in setting up dining areas with the front-of-house team
• Manage budgets, conduct audits, and control stock
• Create a warm, efficient, and enjoyable environment
• Participate in ongoing recruitment and retention efforts
• Oversee performance of the kitchen and front-of-house teams

As a Head Chef at Barchester, you'll enjoy hotel/restaurant standards without split shifts or long hours. You'll have full autonomy to create nutritious, flavorful menus and take ownership of your kitchen and team development.
