About The Role

In your role as a Head Chef at HC One, you’ll value one thing above all: kindness. It carries across every aspect of our Dementia, Nursing, Residential and Specialist care homes. As a Head Chef, you will manage the kitchen team to cook and serve nutritious, healthy meals that Residents will love. You’ll provide great choice, considering cultural preferences and dietary requirements. Whether managing food stock, optimizing your budget, or liaising with support teams on nutrition standards, Resident wellbeing is your top priority.

HC-One seeks a Head Chef with an S/NVQ2 in Catering & Hospitality or Professional Cookery, a minimum Level 3 Food Hygiene Certificate, and an understanding of Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points. Beyond qualifications, we value your positive energy and ability to connect with people. You should be organized, thrive on autonomy, and follow recipes accurately. When communicating with Residents or colleagues, kindness and consideration are essential.

Safeguarding is everyone's responsibility. You should recognize signs of abuse, harm, or neglect and know how to respond. All staff are required to attend safeguarding training and seek advice or escalate concerns as necessary.
