Job summary

Healthcare Homes Holdings Limited in Tenchley Manor, Selsey, is seeking a Head Chef to lead the kitchen team, create varied menus, manage stock, and uphold top standards of food hygiene and quality for 33 residents, with a focus on nutrition and customer care. You will work 38 hours per week at £16 per hour, 7am to 5:30pm across four days with alternate weekends.

Qualifications

• Experience in a professional kitchen is essential.
• Good organisational skills and knowledge of food hygiene standards.
• City and Guilds or NVQ qualifications preferred but not essential as Academy can provide training.

Responsibilities

• Liaising with residents to prepare a variety of home cooked meals in accordance with allergy and dietary requirements.
• Writing and planning weekly menus, stock control and ordering as well as keeping wastage to a minimum.
• Using creativity for regular theme nights, where dishes from around the world are prepared.
• Developing and managing the existing kitchen team.

If you are kind, compassionate and committed, we would love for you to lead our kitchen team in our lovely nursing home, Tenchley Manor, catering for 33 residents.

In the heart of Selsey, just south of Chichester, Tenchley Manor stands as a warm and welcoming home offering nursing, respite, and end-of-life care. Picture well-maintained gardens, a wheelchair-friendly promenade, and the soothing sound of waves at your doorstep.

What would a typical day look like?

• Liaising with our residents to prepare a variety of home cooked meals in accordance with various allergy and dietary requirements.
• Writing and planning weekly menus, stock control and ordering as well as keeping wastage to a minimum.
• Using your creativity for our regular theme nights, where we prepare dishes from around the world.
• Developing and managing our existing kitchen team.

The successful candidate will have experience in working in a professional kitchen, have good organisational skills and knowledge of good kitchen practices and food hygiene standards. City and Guilds or NVQ qualifications are preferred but not essential as they can be provided through our Academy.
