Ideal opportunity for a sous chef to step up

Our client is a popular destination hotel with an excellent reputation, located in a well-known tourist area of North Yorkshire.

They are seeking a Head Chef to lead their team of 4 in a busy hotel restaurant that prides itself on preparing all dishes in-house using the freshest local Yorkshire produce. The role involves being hands-on, bringing innovative ideas, and elevating the food standards with a focus on quality over quantity.

This Head Chef position is ideal for an experienced Sous Chef looking to step into their first Head Chef role. Candidates must be passionate about food, creative, and eager to improve standards. The hotel caters for up to 90 covers during service and hosts weddings for up to 100 guests, along with small conference facilities.

The establishment sources all ingredients from local North Yorkshire suppliers and features a daily blackboard menu that highlights seasonal and available produce.

Key requirements include excellent kitchen and team management skills, a passion for fresh, quality ingredients, and the ability to manage kitchen finances, including maintaining standards and achieving GP and wage targets.

Skills required:

Experience with all fresh foods at least at Sous Chef level
The right attitude and passion for food
Ability to run and be hands-on in the kitchen
