What you'll do

As a Head Butler, you will create memorable and personalized experiences for our guests, including:

  • Training, recruiting, and motivating a team of butlers to deliver service excellence.
  • Welcoming guests, handling in-room check-ins, and preparing suites to perfection.
  • Providing personalized guest service, anticipating and fulfilling guest requests with discretion and attention to detail.
  • Collaborating with departments such as Housekeeping, Room Service, and Concierge to ensure seamless service and updated guest profiles.
  • Possessing excellent knowledge of the hotel, facilities, and local attractions to enhance guest experiences.
  • Ensuring every interaction reflects The Dorchester’s warmth, precision, and care.

This role operates on a seven-day rota with three shifts: morning (07:00–15:45), middle (10:00–18:45), and late (14:30–23:15). You will have two days off weekly and work on bank holidays as part of the schedule.

What you'll bring

Essential Skills and Experience

  • Experience as a Butler Manager or Assistant Butler Manager in a London boutique hotel.
  • Strong leadership skills to achieve service excellence.
  • Exceptional guest service skills, with a focus on personalized care.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Knowledge of service protocols, etiquette, and professional standards.
  • Excellent communication skills in English.
  • Flexibility to work varied shifts, including weekends and bank holidays.

Preferred Skills

  • Familiarity with London’s key locations and attractions.
  • Multilingual abilities, especially for international guests.
  • Formal training in luxury hospitality or butler standards.
