Signature Brew in London is seeking an experienced Head Brewer to lead production and packaging teams as the brewery grows. You will drive recipe development, maintain quality, and manage supplier relations to support expansion and collaborations with artists.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day production and packaging operations.
• Line manage production and packaging leaders and staff rosters.
• Drive scalable growth and efficiency on site.
• Coordinate contract brewing and packaging needs.
• Develop recipes and refine existing ones.
• Lead new product development from idea to market with pilot kit.
• Manage preventative maintenance and spare parts inventory.
• Ensure quality control, QA, and on-site lab activities.
• Maintain HACCP standards and Health & Safety logs.
• Support SALSA accreditation and annual audits.
• Manage supplier relationships and third-party collaborations.
• Represent Signature Brew within the industry.

Job description

After more than 15 years brewing alongside musicians, we’ve become the authentic connection between seeing your favourite artist onstage and the beer in your glass.

We’re looking for an experienced, talented, and innovative Head Brewer to lead our passionate production and packaging teams as the brewery enters this seminal period in its history.

The successful applicant will be responsible for growing production of our award winning core range whilst maintaining the very best quality standards already in place, developing our range, as well as collaborating with the internationally-renowned artists who help define Signature Brew’s union of great beer and great music.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee and ultimately accountable for the day-to-day running of the production and packaging department
• Line manage production and packaging leaders including particular support on managing production/packaging schedules and staff rotas
• Leading the growth of the production element of the site with an emphasis on scalability and efficiency
• Coordinate and organise any contract brewing and packaging requirements
• Recipe development, finessing our current recipes and creating new ones
• Lead NPD taking us all the way from idea to market via our pilot kit
• Manage preventative maintenance schedule and ensure equipment is well maintained and spares inventory up to date
• Responsible for quality control, quality assurance, sensory analysis and managing the on site laboratory
• Ensure meticulous records are maintained and that the brewery adheres to Health and Safety standards (HACPP)
• Maintain standards to SALSA level and lead annual audit
• Maintaining relationships with key suppliers
• Lead relationships and operations with 3rd party suppliers
• Represent Signature Brew within the industry

Personal Requirements

• Head Brewer experience
• Advanced Brewing Qualification
• An aptitude for problem solving
• Proven track record of managing a brewery and a team
• Ambition to grow with Signature Brew, and amongst the wider brewing community
• An organised, self-motivated individual with great communication skills and a positive, proactive approach to work
