Simply Jobsworth in Gloucester is seeking a Head Bookkeeper / Company Accountant to take ownership of the finance function. You will oversee day-to-day accounts, reporting and growth support in a friendly SME environment, directly partnering with Directors.

The role requires strong Xero knowledge, CIS and VAT experience, and the ability to produce management accounts and cash flow summaries. A hands-on, proactive approach is essential.

Qualifikationen

• Experience in a busy accounts function and taking responsibility for workload.
• Strong Excel skills and attention to detail.
• Experience with VAT, CIS and project-based accounting is desirable.

Aufgaben

• Managing day-to-day bookkeeping using Xero.
• Processing invoices, expenses and bank reconciliations.
• Managing CIS returns, subcontractor payments and deductions.
• Preparing VAT returns, including domestic reverse charge.
• Producing monthly management accounts, P&L reports and cash flow summaries.
• Monitoring aged debtors and creditors and payment schedules.
• Managing project costs, retentions and contract profitability.
• Processing payroll journals and supporting payroll activities.
• Preparing financial information for Directors and HMRC compliance.
