Job summary

Cornish Bakery in Harrogate is seeking a Head Barista to lead coffee standards and develop a passionate team. You’ll coach colleagues, refine espresso work, and ensure a welcoming bakery experience at the heart of the community.

You’ll train through hands-on leadership, maintain top quality drinks, and inspire others to deliver outstanding customer service in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Strong barista skills and a genuine passion for high-quality coffee.
• Experience using and adjusting commercial espresso machines and grinders.
• The confidence and patience to train, coach and inspire others.
• A customer-first approach and pride in delivering consistently high standards.

Responsibilities

• Train and coach the team to deliver World’s Best Coffee consistently.
• Lead by example on the coffee machine, delivering exceptional drinks and warm service.
• Dial in and adjust espresso equipment for perfect extraction.
• Maintain excellent coffee quality, presentation, cleanliness and equipment care.
• Build colleagues’ confidence through hands-on coaching and feedback.
• Prepare our award-winning food and uphold high bakery standards.
• Support the Management Team with smooth day-to-day bakery operations.

As a Head Barista you will:

• Train and coach the team to serve the World’s Best Coffee perfectly and consistently
• Lead by example on the coffee machine, delivering exceptional drinks and warm customer service
• Dial in and fine-tune the espresso machine and grinder to achieve the perfect extraction
• Maintain excellent coffee quality, presentation, cleanliness and equipment care
• Build colleagues’ confidence and knowledge through hands‑on coaching and feedback
• Prepare our award-winning food and uphold high standards throughout the bakery
• Support the Management Team with the smooth day-to‑day running of the bakery
• Be part of a Team who strive to Aim Higher at all times
