Job summary

Boston Tea Party is looking for a brilliant Head Barista to be the coffee champion of one of our cafés. You’ll set the standard behind the machine, lead by example and bring energy to busy shifts.

You’ll coach and develop the baristas, ensure recipes and standards are followed, care for equipment, and create genuine connections with guests while the team works as one.

Qualifications

• Confident, experienced barista who knows their way around an espresso machine and cares about the coffee served.
• Curious, patient and excited about sharing what you know.

Responsibilities

• Make consistently brilliant coffee and set the standard for everyone around you.
• Coach and develop baristas, from someone's very first coffee through to helping experienced team members become even better.
• Make sure our coffee recipes, standards and ways of working are followed every day.
• Keep an eye on quality throughout the day and make adjustments when they're needed.
• Look after our coffee equipment and make sure it's cleaned, maintained and treated with care.
• Help new Good Eggs build their confidence behind the machine.
• Share your knowledge without the ego — making great coffee accessible to everyone.
• Work closely with your café leadership team to keep standards high.

We’re looking for a brilliant Head Barista to be the coffee champion of one of our Boston Tea Party cafés.

Coffee is a huge part of what we do, but being a great Head Barista is about more than pulling the perfect shot.

You’ll set the standard behind the machine, build confidence and skill across the team and make sure every guest gets a cup of coffee we’re genuinely proud of.

You'll still be right in the middle of café life — serving guests, leading by example and bringing energy to busy shifts.

What you'll be doing

You'll take the lead on coffee, quality and developing the baristas around you.

That means you'll:

Who we're looking for

You’ll already be a confident, experienced barista who knows their way around an espresso machine and genuinely cares about the coffee they serve.

But technical ability is only part of it.

We're looking for someone who can make other people better.

You don't need to be the loudest person in the café or know absolutely everything about coffee. You do need to be curious, patient and excited about sharing what you know.
