Job summary

Yeovil College is seeking a proactive Higher Education and Adult Lead to steer quality and learner outcomes across our HE and Adult provision. You will use data, regulatory insight and learner voice to identify opportunities, drive improvements and support senior leaders with compliant strategies.

You’ll lead a team, collaborate across the College, and shape policies that enhance participation, progression and safeguarding, while promoting best practice and professional development.

Qualifications

• Experience in post-16 education, ideally within a college-based Higher Education or Adult learning environment.
• Strong regulatory and compliance experience, with the ability to operate confidently within a regulated environment and contribute to effective policies, processes and quality assurance.
• A proven track record of using data and insight to improve learner experience, attendance, retention, achievement, progression and overall student outcomes.
• Strong leadership and relationship-building skills, with experience managing people and working effectively with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders and partners.
• A learner-focused approach, with an understanding of widening participation, student support, careers guidance and safeguarding, alongside experience delivering interventions that improve student success.
• Excellent communication and organisational skills, with a high standard of written English, strong Microsoft Office skills and the ability to manage multiple projects, use initiative and drive continual improvement.

Responsibilities

• Provide operational leadership across HE and Adult provision, using insight and learner voice to drive improvements.
• Shape and ensure high-quality learner experience and outcomes.
• Advise senior leaders on regulatory requirements and ensure compliance with OfS, Adult Skills Fund and partner obligations.
• Collaborate with colleagues across the College to drive growth and best practice.
• Turn insight into action to support recruitment, induction, achievement and progression.
