Job summary

Generations People Ltd. is seeking an experienced Extrusion Process Engineer to optimise HDPE pipe extrusion lines in Chesterfield. You will own process parameters, troubleshoot production issues and drive improvements across the line.

The role is hands‑on and collaborative, working with Operations, Quality, Maintenance and Production to boost efficiency and product quality. A competitive salary and benefits are offered.

Qualifications

• 3–5+ years' hands‑on process engineering experience in continuous plastics extrusion (pipe extrusion).
• Strong technical knowledge of HDPE, melt rheology and thermal behaviour.
• Experience with industrial automation and PLC systems.

Responsibilities

• Define, standardise and optimise extrusion parameters for HDPE.
• Lead root-cause analysis for defects and implement corrective actions.
• Improve line speeds, throughput and material yield while maintaining properties.
• Support scrap reduction and sustainability initiatives including PCR/PIR integration.
